Information for LGBTQ

1 in 4 lesbian, gay and bisexual people will experience domestic abuse in their lives.

80% of transgender people have experienced some sort of abusive behaviour from a partner or ex-partner.

South Ayrshire Women’s Aid is dedicated to providing support and information to all women, children and young people who are affected by domestic abuse. Our services for women include anyone who identifies themselves as a woman whether heterosexual, bi-sexual, lesbian or transgender women and regardless of whether the perpetrator is male or female.

LGBT champions have been appointed and all staff have been trained by LGBT Youth Scotland so that we can offer the best service to the LGBT community. We provide a confidential, targeted and professional service to all women accessing support.
