All training can be delivered in person and online and in a variety of settings in South Ayrshire to meet the training needs of your team, staff, pupils and service users. 

Understanding Gender-based Violence and Domestic Abuse

Who should attend?

Anyone who may come into contact with women,  children and young people experiencing domestic abuse. The training includes reviewing gender- based violence, coercive control, multiple pathways to harm and available supports.

This half day workshop aims to provide an in depth understanding of domestic abuse, how abuse is carried out and how it affects the behaviour and choices of those experiencing it.

It also offers an insight into how domestic abuse impacts on children and young people and looks into some of the principles of best practice in supporting those who have experienced domestic abuse.

Children and Young People’s Experiences of Domestic Abuse

Who should attend?

Anyone working with CYP. Completion of Understanding Domestic Abuse is a pre-requisite for this course.

The aim of this half day course is to provide an understanding of the range of feelings, reactions and possible outcomes of domestic abuse on children and young people and how their responses can be missed or misinterpreted.

Safe and Effective Support and Services

Who should attend?

Anyone who may come into contact with women and children experiencing Domestic Abuse. Completion of Understanding Domestic Abuse is a pre-requisite for this course.

This half day course is aimed at frontline workers who are likely to have contact with women and children who are experiencing or have experienced Domestic Abuse. The aim is to provide an understanding of the possible indicators of Domestic Abuse, how to ask if abuse is suspected and how to deal with disclosure.

Online Safety – Children and Young People

Who should attend?

Anyone working with children and young people.

This half day course aims to raise awareness of online risks for children and young people including  grooming, sexting, pornography, non consensual image sharing and social networking with reference to current legislation and resources for support.
